Devon Holiday Cottages: FAQs
Everything you need to know about booking a self-catering holiday cottage in Devon.
Yes. Booking direct saves you up to 20% against the same property on a third party site, because there is no additional commission added to the price. Our office is in Lyme Regis itself, so you are booking with a local team who know these properties and the town, and who can answer questions on parking, access or arrival before you commit.
Our Devon properties are in East Devon, principally in and around Seaton and Beer, with the Jurassic Coast running along the shoreline and countryside inland. This is a quieter part of the county than the busier South Devon resorts, and both towns are close enough to each other, and to West Dorset, to explore easily from a single base.
Seaton is the larger of the two, with a long beach, an esplanade and shops, cafes and supermarkets within walking distance, which suits families and longer self catering stays. Beer is a smaller fishing village with more traditional cottages, a sheltered beach and a quieter feel. They are around a mile and a half apart, so you can enjoy both whichever you choose.
Many of them are. Use the pets filter to see the Devon properties that accept dogs and how many each one welcomes, or view our full dog friendly range. East Devon suits dog owners well, with the coast path linking Seaton, Beer and Branscombe, estuary walks nearby and plenty of dog friendly pubs. Seasonal restrictions apply on parts of the main beaches in summer.
Yes. A number of our Seaton and Beer properties offer sea views, from full outlooks across Lyme Bay to glimpses of the water from upper floors and balconies. You can view our full sea view cottage range in one search. These properties are consistently the first to book for summer and school holidays.
Yes. Our East Devon collection ranges from one and two bedroom cottages and apartments through to houses sleeping ten or more. Filter by guests, bedrooms and bathrooms to narrow your search, or browse our family sized cottages. Look for properties with gardens or enclosed outside space if you are travelling with young children or dogs.
Some include allocated parking and others rely on nearby public car parks, which is worth checking before booking, particularly in Beer where the village streets are narrow and steep. Use the parking filter to see properties with their own space, or contact the team and we will confirm the arrangement for any cottage you are considering.
Yes. Short breaks from one to ten nights are available at many of our Devon properties, with the widest choice outside the summer peak. Autumn, winter and early spring are particularly good value, and we also release Christmas and New Year availability for anyone wanting a coastal cottage over the festive period.
Every property includes bed linen and towels as standard, allowing one bath towel and one hand towel per person. We also provide a consumable pack in each cottage, with at least one toilet roll per bathroom, a washing up liquid, cleaning products and soap in every bathroom. Anything further that is included is listed on the individual property page and in our booking terms and conditions.
